Tigron goes green with solar energy

With some pride we can report that Tigron recently switched to solar energy. Thanks to the installation of no less than 88 solar panels, we contribute to a healthier climate and we set the step to an energy-efficient work environment. Solar panels emit no CO2 and the Sun is an inexhaustible source of energy.

PANELS IN THE SAHARA

Did you know that theoretically there is only a relatively small area with solar panels necessary to provide the entire world of energy? This was already demonstrated in 2005 by the DESERTEC project. As you can see by the red squares on the map, only a small part of the Sahara is needed to provide electricity to the world, Europe or Germany. Daily we get 3000 times more energy from the sun than is needed for the world’s population.

Healthy investment

Ofcourse there are certain conditions to be met before you start installing solar panels. Obviously, there must be sufficient space for installation and the panels need to be pointed in the right direction. The amount of power that can be produced is dependent on the light. The Tigron office luckily has a sufficiently large flat roof so the panels can be placed under an ideal angle to catch a maximum amount of sunlight.

Next to the green aspect, of course, such an installation is an excellent investment. Depending on installation and placement solar panels have paid themselves back on average after 6 to 12 years. From that moment on, the energy produced is completely free. A guaranteed return on investment.

Solar energy is also one of the most sustainable forms of energy. For the production and transport of the panels fossil fuels are used, but the most recent solar panels will have produced more energy after 2 years than they have cost during the development and production phase. Tigron's contribution to a cleaner and better environment is guaranteed.
